ABOUT THE CLASSES:
Participants get their very own coach to teach them how to eat healthy foods and increase physical activity for a full year!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
This program is free.
WHAT IS PREDIABETES?
Prediabetes means a person’s blood glucose (sugar) level is higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes.
HOW CAN PREDIABETES AFFECT PEOPLE?
Without losing weight or increasing physical activity, people with prediabetes may develop type 2 diabetes within 3 years. But changes can be made now to improve health.
HOW DOES THIS PROGRAM HELP?
The goal of the program is to help people lose 5 to 7 percent of their weight — that’s only 10 to 14 pounds for a person weighing 200 pounds — by eating healthier and being more physically active. This will improve health and cut the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet for 1 year with weekly meetings for the first 4 months, and then meetings twice a month for the following 8 months to help maintain healthy lifestyle changes.
*Take our short quiz to see if you are eligible for the program! If you are, you’ll be sent a link to log in before class starts.
